PIONEER EXPLORERS
Utopia Podcasts
The 6th graders researched "intentional communities" in the United States and created a podcast with their findings. Of course with Explorers, this became a VERY creative exercise! Go to the Films and Podcast page and listen!
Banned Books Project Video
Students did a fantastic job with their presentations at the Walla Walla Public Library on Saturday September 27. Click on the video above to see the panel discussion.
Fantastic work, students!
World War II
The 7/8 grade Explorers are starting their study of WWII. As part of this the classes will play a game called "Diplomacy". This is a classic strategy game that takes place in Europe at about the time of WWI. It is fascinating to watch this game unfold!

SPIFFY
Our local film festival has received nearly 80 submissions from all of the world! We will post the film festival schedule near the end of March.
The festival will be held at the Power House Theater of Walla Walla on May 9. Click here for more details and tickets.
Filmmaking
Pioneer Explorers has a vibrant and exciting filmmaking program. Students learn how to make documentaries and short films. See our YouTube channel for films from the Explorers classroom.
Several films from Explorers have been accepted into the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, the largest youth film festival in the world. This annual festival features films made by directors under 22 years old. Our students have had films accepted at the ages of 12-14. Pretty amazing!
